Who this is for

Built for people in everyday roles — not programmers

AI apprenticeships are designed for people who know how their workplace runs and want to make it run better.

Administration Customer service Operations HR Marketing Project support Team leaders Digital roles

No advanced programming required. These are practical, business-focused qualifications. If you can spot a process that wastes everyone’s time, you already have the raw material — the training teaches you the rest.

What you’ll learn

Skills you’ll use the same week you learn them

AI fundamentals

How machine learning, generative AI and large language models actually work — what they do well, and where they fail.

Automation in practice

Turn repetitive manual work — data entry, approvals, reporting — into reliable automated workflows.

Process improvement

Map how work really happens in your organisation, find the friction, and design better ways of working.

Responsible AI

GDPR, data protection, bias and governance — use AI safely and keep your organisation on the right side of the rules.

Real workplace projects

Apply everything to live projects in your own role, building a portfolio of measurable improvements as you go.

Leading change

Bring colleagues with you — stakeholder engagement, training others and making new tools stick.

  • Course fees covered by your apprenticeship levy — or 95–100% government co-investment if you don’t pay it
  • Staff learn while doing their job — projects deliver value during the programme, not after it
  • Works for upskilling current employees as well as new hires

Common questions

The things everyone asks first

Yes — for eligible learners and employers, course fees are covered by UK government apprenticeship funding. Larger employers pay through their apprenticeship levy (money already set aside); smaller employers typically have 95–100% of the cost covered by government co-investment. You pay no tuition fees, and you keep earning your normal salary throughout.

No. Practitioner-level AI apprenticeships are practical and business-focused — no advanced programming is required. They’re designed for people from backgrounds like administration, customer service, operations, HR and marketing who want to use AI and automation tools, not build them from scratch.

That’s exactly how it’s designed. You stay in your role, on your salary, and apply what you learn to real projects at work. You’ll need your employer’s agreement and time within your working week for learning — we help you make that case.

AI apprenticeships follow official, nationally recognised apprenticeship standards. Our featured programme, the Level 4 AI & Automation Practitioner, is equivalent to a Higher National Certificate or the first year of university study. Other standards exist at different levels — see our levels guide to compare routes.
